Peat Landslide Hazard and Risk Assessment, Onshore Wind Farm, Shetland

East Point Geo delivered a peat landslide hazard and risk assessment for an onshore wind farm proposed to be sited in a complex peat upland on the Shetland Islands. The proposed wind farm will comprise up to 29 turbines with a generating capacity of up to 200MW.

Assessment work included geomorphological mapping from digital aerial photos, detailed stability analysis and identification of mitigation options to minimise landslide risks. Field work included reconnaissance walkover surveys and peat depth probing.
